March 6...or 7, or 8...OK, let's face it; it's already March 9 - After my last post (which was actually written on the 6th), it was my intention to then immediately go to sleep for a few hours since I had been awake for over twenty-eight hours by then with just an hour nap about midway through. Just as I was about to curl up like a kitty under blankets, I was unexpectedly called in to the dread "real" job. I was barely able to squeeze in another hour long nap, then hopped up (well, I actually sort of haltingly lurched forward, creaking as I shambled) and went in for a shift. By the time I got home, I had been operating for 36 hours with just those two naps to sustain me. I went directly to bed, waking at 10:00AM the next day...to begin what became another days-long "day." Again I worked on art, then at the dumb "real" job. Afterwards, even though I'd had a normal day (after a relatively normal period of slumber), I was ready to crash. Little did I know, though, that my wife, the beautiful WOMP Staff, was using WOMP H.Q. to host a get-together of the girls from her workplace. Ugh! So, I struggled along, playing the genial co-host, until 4:00AM on the 8th before guests were finally gone and my day was finally over, 18 hours after it had begun. Needless to say, any plans to post something here in The WOMP-Blog again fell by the wayside. That morning, a mere four hours later, on a whim, The Staff and I decided to take her niece and nephew to the National Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque, Iowa. It just sounded like fun to take the kids, ages eight and nine, to a place which we two have so often enjoyed by ourselves. And it was fun, but, coming after my sleep-deprived mini-marathon of the preceding days, it made for a very tiring and long day. Throw in the hour lost to Daylight Stealings Time and you have an idea of why I haven't been able to get back to posting until now, 2:00PM on the 9th. Of course, I go to work at the dorky "real" job at 3:00PM, so I really don't have time to post anything anyway...I just wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten about you! I'll be back to discussing some more Comic Book Misconceptions later, but, for now, I have to get going. See ya...tomorrow?
