July 17 - As I sat in my darkened office last night, drawing by candlelight, I thought to myself "Other artists did this for centuries, right? I can do this, too." Yes, the power was out here at WOMP H.Q. once again. Very frustrating, but at least it's back up now. Still, I had to abandon quite a few plans for the evening that involved any number of various electronified devices, meaning I have to cram them all into today. Most were preparations for that Wisconsin Arts Board meeting (just a few hours from now as I type this). You know; printing business cards, assembling flyers, trimming hair, washing/drying clothes, and so forth. Hmm. Now it sounds like I'm getting ready for a date! I suppose that's not too far from the truth, as I have all sorts of expectations for, and trepidations about, the conference...many of which may be completely unreasonable. That pretty much describes a date, doesn't it? Anyhoo, I suppose that I should get to some of that stuff, especially since I'm actually making myself nervous just thinking about that meeting. I wonder...will the Wisconsin Arts Board will still respect me tomorrow? Here's the Comic Book Editor of The Day - Carmine Infantino!
