June 15 - I'm sorry to have to pause our usual silliness with some sad news. One of our neighborhood friends has died. Out of respect for his family's privacy, I'm not disclosing his name, but I can tell you that he, a young man in his early thirties, passed far too soon. He was a sweet, funny guy who was a great friend of many Official Friends of WOMP, especially Eric Gillitzer, to whom he was nearly a brother. I've known him since he was a boy, first as one of the kids across the street, then as a frequent customer of the comics section of my The Big Sale events, later as someone who commissioned me to draw his role-playing characters, and ultimately, I believe, as a friend. My condolences go to his family and friends. A simple family service is scheduled for Wednesday. I'll be back to my normal nonsense sometime soon, I suppose, but, for now, please forgive me if I skip a day or two here in the WOMP-Blog. Thank you.
